Nation Building Support Officer

  • Part time (.6FTE)
  • Fixed 18 month term
  • Based at Forestec
  • GLaWAC considers that being of Gunaikurnai heritage is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s28 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic.)

The Nation Building Support Officer will engage, educate, and empower Gunaikurnai members to be ready for discussions with the State Government about Treaty and building capacity toward self-determination.

The NB Support Officer will coordinate family/clan group yarning circles and other engagement events across the Gunaikurnai RAP area.

They will also partner with TAFE and VACCHO to deliver training in corporate governance and administrative skills and they will support the development of a tailored cultural governance curriculum.

The NB Support Officer will align the delivery of the project with the existing GLaWAC Annual Engagement Plan to enable the strategic alignment of six On Country community gatherings to ensure members voices are heard right across the settlement area.

Front Desk Administrator

  • Full time
  • Based at Forestec
  • GLaWAC considers that being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s28 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic.)

The Front Desk Administrator provides a key customer service function for GLaWAC.  You are the key interface for all enquiries through either phone, email or face to face at the Forestec office. You deliver the efficient running of the front office area and provide administrative assistance that supports the day to day operations of GLaWAC.

The Front Desk Administrator will welcome customers and inform and guide visitors as to GLaWAC’s cultural attractions. You will create a positive experience to encourage repeat visitation by providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to internal and external stakeholders.
