Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC) represents the Traditional Owners of Gippsland, the Gunaikurnai people. The role of GLaWAC is to lead key initiatives that meet the aspirations of the Whole of Country Plan and to support members through Native Title related matters.

You will:

  • Be of Gunaikurnai Heritage
  • Have experience On Country
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be a team player
  • Be committed to achieving completion of all required training
  • Be willing to undertake a mandatory pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing
  • Be willing to work in remote locations and travel across the region
  • Have a current drivers licence

Joint Management Ranger Traineeships available

Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation in partnership with Parks Victoria are seeking applications from people of Gunaikurnai Heritage who are interested in undertaking a full-time traineeship in Conservation and Land Management from Kalimna to Traralgon.

The traineeship will provide you with:

  • 18 months full time employment providing you with the opportunity to earn money whilst earning your Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management
  • A mix of off-job learning (in a classroom, online, or at your employer’s premises) and on-job learning (in the workplace)
  • Real life experience in the workplace

Requirements
✓ Completed minimum year 10 secondary school,
✓ Team player
✓ Committed to achieving a satisfactory completion of Certificate III Conservation and Land Management,
✓ Willing to undertake a mandatory pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing
✓ Willing to work in remote locations and travel across the region
✓ Have a current drivers licence
